Ingredients

Scale

For the Grilled Salmon:

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each), skin-on or skinless
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or avocado oil)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Lemon wedges (for serving)

For the Avocado Salsa:

  • 2 ripe avocados, diced
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • ¼ cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice (about 1 lime)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare the Avocado Salsa:

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the diced avocados, tomato, red onion, lime juice, and cilantro. Gently toss until well mixed. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

2. Season the Salmon:

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and place them on a plate or baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle evenly with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Rub the seasoning into the salmon to coat evenly.

3. Grill the Salmon:

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F–400°F). Lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking.
  2. Place the salmon fillets on the grill, skin-side down if using skin-on fillets. Grill for 6-8 minutes per side, or until the salmon is opaque, flakes easily with a fork, and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). Avoid flipping the salmon more than once to prevent breaking.

4. Serve and Enjoy:

  1. Remove the salmon from the grill and let it rest for 2-3 minutes. Top each fillet generously with the chilled avocado salsa.
  2. Serve with lemon wedges on the side for an extra burst of brightness. Pair with grilled asparagus, roasted potatoes, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
